Description from Goodreads: “ER nurse Sloane Ferrell escaped her risky past—new name, zip code, job, and a fresh start. She’s finally safe, if she avoids a paper trail and doesn’t let people get too close. Like the hospital’s too-smooth marketing man with his relentless campaign to plaster one “lucky” employee’s face on freeway billboards.

Micah Prescott’s goal is to improve the Hope hospital image, but his role as a volunteer crisis responder is closer to his heart. The selfless work helps fill a void in his life left by family tragedy. So does a tentative new relationship with the compassionate, beautiful, and elusive Sloane Ferrell.

Then a string of brutal crimes makes headlines, summons responders . . . and exposes disturbing details of Sloane’s past.

Can hope spring from crisis?”

Review: This was an absolutely amazing book. This is the third book of the Crisis Teem series but this is the first book of the series I’ve read but now I think I’m going to have to go back and read the others! I fell in love right from the beginning and this never let up. This is a wonderful romance book but it is so much more than just a romance, it was suspenseful, and a story of forgiveness and the power of kindness. This book shows a lot about God’s grace and forgiveness and the need we all have for these precious gifts.

This book covered many important issues including drinking, human trafficking, and complications for people who were victims of childhood abuse. This book broke my heart a few times and then proceeded to put it back together so wonderfully that I still cannot get over it. It’s rare that I am so happy for a character of a book, but I really am happy for these ones. These characters were so relatable and I couldn’t help but cheer for them. I loved them and feel now as though I lost a few friends. The writing was so vivid that I truly felt as though these characters were real.

This book taught me that no matter who I encounter in life, they have issues they are dealing with. It’s so easy to get caught up in our own lives and to think that we are the only ones with problems but even those who look to have the perfect life, probably have a few things they are holding back too. Everyone has problems and everyone needs someone to help. Who knows, Maybe it’s you!

Recommendation: I would recommend this book to anyone! This is truly an amazing story and there is so much more to this book than just romance so don’t shy away from it due to this category, you won’t regret it!
